Stacks

by Weston Gross

Synopsis

System: Stacks

Style

Progression on straight up numbers at 35:1 odds.
Difficulty
Moderate.
It requires keeping track of bet units, but no calculations are required
after the setup is determined.
Overview
To begin with, the bankroll is broken up into stacks with an associated bet unit.
The unit is the number of chips required to play on one number in order to gain a profit on a win.

To play this system, you need to know 4 things:

1. The amount of numbers you want to play.
2. The amount of stacks to use.
3. The amount of chips in each stack.
4. The unit associated with each stack.

Once this is calculated, playing the system is very easy.
Simply play through stack 1, moving to stack 2,3,4 etc until your chosen number wins.
Then reset and start all over.
Pros
- Bankroll is set
- No calculations required after setup is determined
- Can be played with a low bankroll
Cons
- Creating the setup is difficult without the use of a calculator
Experience
This is the system I play most of the time at the casino.
I usually use $100 - $300 and play between 3-5 numbers.
After winning 2-3 times I leave the table.

I have had good luck winning 2-4 timesand leaving,
but playing it for hours and hours eventually lost.

The Details
The best way to think about how this system works is to imagine
that you have a stack of $35 and are playing $1 on one number (35:1 payout)

If you win on the first spin, then your profit is $35.
If you win on the last spin, then your profit is (35 payout - 34 lost) or $1.

Playing $1 on spin 36 will result in a break-even (35-35) or 0.
Spin 37 will result in a loss (35-36) or -$1.

So to compensate for this loss, the bet is increased by $1.
Now spin 37 will pay $70 and result in a win (70 - 36) or $34

Now suppose instead of playing $1 on one number, you played $1 on 3 numbers.

If you win on the first spin, then your profit would be
(35 payout - $2 lost) or $33

If you win on the last spin, then the profit would be
(35 payout - $34 lost) or $1

The difference between playing 1 number and 3 numbers is
- playing 1 number gives more spins than playing 3 numbers before increasing the bet.
- playing 3 number covers more of the table than playing 1 number.

You will see later in this review that there is really
no benefit to playing a lot of spins vs covering more table,
it works out to be about the same.

The purpose of the stacks is to precalculate how much money
is needed for each bet amount. Each bet amount has it's own stack.

This makes it easy when playing at the casino, so all you have
to do is keep track of what stack you are playing from to know
the bet amount for each number played. Then on a win, reset all
stacks.

This tool will calculate the stacks.

What is best to play

The table below shows the results of 500,000 games using a $100 bankroll. A game ends when the ball lands on a number played, or the $100 bankroll runs out.

The table above show 500,000 games tested for each amount of numbers played from 1-10 on a double 00 roulette wheel.
As expected, the system fails over the long run. However, the win ratio is around 80%.

What that means is that 80% of the games will make a profit and 20% will lose the bankroll
of $100.

It appears the highest rate of wins occurs when playing 5 numbers.

The stacks required for $100 bankroll playing 5 numbers is shown below.

The table above show that 3 stacks are required and will allow for 12 spins.
Each spin has a 5/38 or about 31.57% chance to win.
